Phase 1 Deps Planted

2020 Phase 1 Light Dep Crop

2020 Phase 1 Light Dep Crop

SEASON 3: WEEK 4

May 19, 2020

This week on the farm we are in the 4th week of growth for the first batch of seedlings. We were finally able to get our hands dirty and start planting. Since our last post on popping seeds we have prepped our field, laid out our first phase of light deps, and planted the first ten strains.

We are lucky to have great soil here in our valley but we still put a lot of work in to prep it for planting. After ripping up the field, organic amendments are spread and then tilled in to ensure optimal soil health. The team did a great job working the soil this year.👌

After the soil is prepared, the perimeter of each dep house is mapped out. Once that is completed the irrigation lines are laid down, evenly spaced, and secured. Next we are ready to plant.

The driplines emit water every 12 inches. Our growing style in the dep houses will be Sea of Green so we are planting really close, on every drip. One plant for every square foot of space, gently tucked into the soil by hand. ❤︎

Watching the plants progress through the growth stages is an exciting time of the season, especially the newbies we haven’t grown before. So far we’ve planted the first 10 strains, some classics and some new.

We are really packing in the variety this year so it will be nice to walk through the field and compare each strain’s unique qualities and smells. By mid-summer the farm will transform into an expansive test garden of hemp varietals, carefully chosen for high quality flower production. 💐

Lets start off with the first ten of 2020…

Cherry Abacus [ColoradoCBDseed] [CBD] - This strain is a cross of Original Cherry and Abacus. It displays strong Cherry notes mixed with the wild berry smell of Abacus.

Abacus 2.0 [ColoradoCBDseed] [CBD] - This unique strain expresses a true OG terpene profile.

Cherry Abacus 2.0 [ColoradoCBDseed] [CBD] - A backcross of Cherry Abacus into Abacus 2.0, creating an even stronger, more pungent smell.

Spec7 [ColoradoCBDseed] [CBD] - Known for its floral aroma and taste, the Spec7 is a pleasant, uplifting, and soothing strain.

Sour G CBG [Oregon CBD Seeds] [CBG] - Crystal covered flowers with a Sour Diesel lineage. This new twist on CBG can test upwards of 20%.

White CBG [Oregon CBD Seeds] [CBG] - Large, frosty white flowers exude a powerful aroma.

Lifter [Oregon CBD Seeds] [CBD] - Sizable, oily buds throw a sweet, funky flavor with hints of fuel.

Hawaiian Haze [Oregon CBD Seeds] [CBD] - Large, medium-density nugs show a tropical scent profile alike to Hawaiian flowers.

Sour Space Candy [Oregon CBD Seeds] [CBD] - Displaying a terpinolene-forward flavor similar to GG4 and the Sour Diesel/Chem/OG lines, this Sour Tsunami cross reveals notes of sweet & sour.

Kush Hemp E1 [Sovereign Fields] [CBD] - Strong gassy notes of black pepper paired with earthy citric undertones present a classic Afghani Kush terpene profile.

So there we have our first 10 strains of the season. Next the team will finish up with planting a couple more dep phases before we dive into planting our full season crop around June 5th.

We’ll update again in a couple weeks to announce what additional strains we’ve planted from the new 2020 lineup!
